My designing dreams began at six, rolling yarn into endless balls and crocheting chains across the living room floor while old VHS tapes flickered in our downtown New Haven apartment. One cherished Sunday, I asked my Nonna, a retired lingerie seamstress, to share her knitting secrets with me — and with a warm smile and her broken English, she did. Today, every piece I create carries her artistry, her love, and the timeless elegance she embodied.
A passionate designer fueled by yarn, spiced apple chai & the love of intricate crown-moulding.
Most Notturna patterns are written to be made-to-size, encouraging makers to understand the construction of a garment rather than simply follow instructions row by row. Each design is intended to teach the shaping, structure, and decisions behind the piece — creating garments tailored not only to the body, but to the maker themselves.
